Freezer Repair in Metro Atlanta

Most freezer problems come down to one of two things: the defrost system has quit, or the seal has gone. Both are straightforward repairs — and both get worse the longer you wait.

A freezer full of meat is worth more than the repair. If it's climbing above 0°F, call today.

01

Problems we fix

If your freezer is doing any of these, we've seen it before — and we carry the parts.

Not freezing, or barely freezing

Typically the defrost system, evaporator fan or a failing thermostat. The compressor is usually fine.

Thick ice or frost coating the walls

The tell-tale sign of a failed defrost heater or defrost thermostat. The freezer is making ice it can no longer clear.

Running constantly

Either the door seal has failed and it's fighting warm air, or the coils are iced over and it can't reach temperature.

Water pooling below the freezer

A clogged or frozen defrost drain tube — melting ice has nowhere to go.

Door won't seal properly

A hardened or torn gasket. Quick to replace, and it stops the ice from coming back.

Loud buzzing or clicking

Often the start relay or a failing evaporator fan motor.

02

Parts we carry

Freezer faults are remarkably predictable. These are the parts that actually fail, and the ones we keep on the van.

What it costs

We won't put a number on this page — nobody can price a repair honestly without seeing the appliance. Here's exactly how the price gets set instead.

1

We diagnose before we quote

A price quoted over the phone, sight unseen, is a guess — and guesses have a way of growing once the technician is in your kitchen. Ours finds the actual fault first, testing components rather than assuming.

2

You get a firm price before we start

Once we know what's wrong, you get one clear number for the whole job — parts and labor together. Nothing happens until you've said yes.

3

The service call is free with any repair

Go ahead with the repair and the visit costs you nothing on top. Decide against it and a diagnostic fee may apply — but we tell you what that is before we come out, never after.

4

What actually drives the price on a freezer

Almost everything that fails in a freezer is inexpensive: defrost heaters, thermostats, fans, gaskets. A sealed-system fault is the expensive exception — and it's rare.

04

Repair or replace?

The honest answer, not the profitable one.

Freezers are among the most repairable appliances in the house. The parts that fail — defrost heaters, thermostats, gaskets, fans — are inexpensive and accessible. Replacing a working cabinet because of a failed heater rarely makes sense, and we'll say so.

Either way, you'll know the price before we start. We diagnose first, quote second, and only work once you've said yes. The service call is free with any completed repair.

Freezer repair questions

Heavy frost build-up almost always means the automatic defrost system has failed — usually the defrost heater or the defrost thermostat. The freezer is still making frost but has stopped melting it away. It's a routine repair.
That usually points to airflow or the defrost system rather than the compressor, since the sealed system is clearly still working. It's diagnosable in a single visit.
Yes — chest freezers, upright freezers, and the freezer sections of refrigerators, from all major brands.
We give you a clear quote after diagnosing the unit, before any work begins. The service call is free with any completed repair.
